Picture of building blocks made out of wood and concrete.

21 components
sculpture installation
wood, concrete

21 components is a sculpture installation that consists of two uniform series of concrete and wooden elements. The 14 concrete casts and seven wooden structures follow the same proportions, so they can be joined together in a number of ways, allowing multiple different assemblies. Planed wood and concrete, usually used to construct permanent spaces and structures, have been modified to form temporary assemblages that are prone to change.

There is tension within the pieces set down in the gallery space and between them: rules, objections, contracts. In this space, and at this moment, the order is agreed upon, but its parts also have the potential to exist in another way.
